The trail starts at Jaffa Gate where the visitor can access Jerusalem Wall by paying a small fee (6 NIS for students & 14 NIS for non-students). Through stairs, the visitor can reach the top of the wall. The trail is defined and clear passing through Jaffa Gate, New Gate, Damascus Gate, Herod’s Gate, and Lions’ Gate where the trail ends. The trail takes between two to two and half hours. It is important to walk carefully on the trail especially during winter.
Ziqaq is a project that aims to create a reliable source of information about the Old City of Jerusalem in both Arabic and English through an easy to use ICT application. The project has the power to attract young people’s attention with the goal of raising the awareness of relevant stakeholders including youth about the daily lives of the Jerusalemite community. The application includes maps, photos, and information about the landmarks of the Old City and the reality of the political situation in it guaranteeing an enjoyable experience for the users of the application. Ziqaq can be accessed through a website, application on smart phones, iPads, or tablets.
