Khasqi Sultan is located on the way to Aqabet Attkiyah (intersection). During the Ottoman period, Sultan Suleiman Qanouni’s wide order Khasqi Sultan with its construction. The construction was complete in 1556 AD. The building consisted of 55 rooms to shelter Sufis, poor people, and visitors in Jerusalem. Today, the Khasqi Sultan building is used as an orphanage “Islamic Orphanage Industrial School” that is considered on of the most important industrial schools in Jerusalem.
Ziqaq is a project that aims to create a reliable source of information about the Old City of Jerusalem in both Arabic and English through an easy to use ICT application. The project has the power to attract young people’s attention with the goal of raising the awareness of relevant stakeholders including youth about the daily lives of the Jerusalemite community. The application includes maps, photos, and information about the landmarks of the Old City and the reality of the political situation in it guaranteeing an enjoyable experience for the users of the application. Ziqaq can be accessed through a website, application on smart phones, iPads, or tablets.
